Curbside Shopping: Garage Sale Guide – June 13

Signs summer is here for a Yellowknifer: the concept of nightime no longer exists, power outages have started, and garage sale season is in full swing. This week’s list features several neighbourly street-wide sales, including most of the Niven area. There are a lot of households getting ready for moves at the end of this month, and it’s up to you Garage Sale Heroes to help them out.

Plan to check out our local quilters at this Saturday’s Quilt Show at the Centre Ice Plaza. The YK Quilt Guild will be showing their talents starting on Friday (from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) and continue all day Saturday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Quilts: fun to say, fun to admire; really tough to make.

Also on Saturday, Yellowknife Hash House Harriers meet on Saturday from 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm at the Racquet Club. Bring: $7 to cover the cost of beer on the trail, a friend, and a sense of humour. Later on, consider checking out one of the last YKARCC Art Shows in their current space downtown. From 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., you can check out Jessica McVicker and Jillian Mazur’s pieces inspired by Yellowknife and around the Northwest Territories. For more on things to do this weekend, be sure to check out our Events page.

As always, if there are any other ways you think we can improve our Garage Sale Guide in the coming weeks, please let us know in the comments.
