Company Information
The K’asho Got’ine Housing Society is a non-profit incorporated in 2016 to address housing issues in Rádeyı̨ lı̨ Kǫ́ (Fort Good Hope), Northwest Territories. The Yamoga Land Corporation (created through the Sahtú Claim) founded the Society, formed its first Board of Directors and committed $1 million to its operations to date ($500,000 annually in 2017 and 2018).
The Society is implementing several programs over the next five years - new home construction for singles and young families, and an integrated home repair and apprenticeship program. In the shorter term, it is focused on developing two local shelters — a safe house for women and children, and an emergency overnight shelter. When completed, these facilities will be the first and only shelters in NWT's Sahtú Region.
