Come join our small team! We are looking for a full time weekday baker manager.
Shifts: Monday to Friday 600 am to 1:30 pm (37.5 hours a week; 7.5 hours a day).
Duties: You will be completely in charge of our kitchen operations. This includes, but is not limited to: opening the shop; baking; creating new food items; managing our recipe book; food costing; getting the groceries; and general organizing of the cafe. As a manager, you will be tasked with delegating work to staff.
You will assist the barista with dialing in the espresso machine; making espresso & tea drinks; choosing cool music to play; serving food and using our POS; greeting and being nice to customers; cupping and learning everything about coffee processing, roasting, and prep; filling and delivering online mail orders; cleaning, closing, and cashing out.
You will also do unromantic things, such as cleaning and dealing with the trash, compost, and recycling.
Who are we looking for? Someone with baking and cafe experience. Preferences will be given to people that have Level 1 Food Safe (although we will pay for this training if you do not possess it). Ideally you have a driver's license (and have access to a vehicle).
Salary: $22.50/hr + tip pooling*
*Tip pooling: To date, tips average around $7 extra an hour; however, this is not guaranteed. Tips are pooled and spread between all staff (not owners) and are paid out with your bi-weekly payroll. This raises the $22.50/hr to around $29/hr.
