Description

We are hiring a trustworthy, take-charge Site Supervisor to join the Care and Maintenance team in a remote camp located at Snap Lake, NT.  This role has broad responsibilities, from managing staff and overseeing site activities, to maintaining safety protocols and implementing site procedures.  Our ideal candidate is experienced, hands-on, and team focused.  This position requires a rotation shift of 12 hours per day working 3 weeks on followed by 3 weeks off.

Responsibilities

Some of the responsibilities of this position include:

  • Provide for site safety and security; devise and implement site policies and procedures
  • Ensure the Pandemic Management Plan is implemented and followed
  • Oversee day to day operations of the site
  • Ensure compliance with the Mine’s Health and Safety Act & Regulations, as well as all other applicable laws and legislation
  • Prepare/review reports and forecasts, including summary of planned seasonal work progress
  • Provide daily reports to management
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of systems and equipment to ensure compliance with specification and procedures
  • Anticipates potential problem areas and analyzes and recommends solutions or corrective actions
  • Supervise and evaluate staff; complete employee reviews; keep accurate records of employee attendance and timesheets; provide positive direction to motivate quality performance; discipline personnel when necessary and appropriate
  • Handle emergencies appropriately according to established procedures; prepare and file incident reports

Qualifications

Training and experience in a related area such as engineering, construction management, and construction project management, planning, or construction is required. Experience in a remote camp is an asset and familiarity with Snap Lake is ideal.

Reporting to the Asset and Environmental Superintendent or designate, the Site Supervisor must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Strong organization and decision-making skills.  Analytical and problem-solving skills are vital to this role.
