Description
The Administrative Assistant will be required to perform a variety of clerical, general financial and administrative tasks for YWCA NWT in Yellowknife, NWT. Additional responsibilities include standard bookkeeping, taking minutes during meetings and scheduling appointments for senior management. The Administrative Assistant will be working from various site locations. Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required.

- Good record keeping skills
- Good keyboarding skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
- Sound ability to deal with public on phone and in person
- Ability to maintain confidential information
- Attention to detail and accuracy
Hours of work are 9am-5pm weekdays, with some flexibility. Includes extended health benefits, vacation and pension plan

Responsibilities
- Makes bank deposits and performs other standard bookkeeping tasks
- Prepares payment processes, issues and post receipts
- Performs data entry, record keeping and filing tasks including confidential employee and departmental files
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail, records, distributes and delivers packages and mail
- Answers phone, provides information and directs calls
- Copies, scans, organizes, and prepares reports for meetings, and other correspondence
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Administrative training required
- 1 year of office and bookkeeping experience
