We are currently seeking an individual to assume the demanding and fulfilling position of Casual Full time Indoor Facilities Maintainer I for approximately Four months.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Indoor Facilities Supervisor and the Assistant Indoor Facilities Supervisor, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance and operation of Arenas.  This includes but is not limited to arena and ice maintenance; removal of snow from walkways and exits; collection and disposal of litter and other debris; equipment maintenance; operation of small-motorized equipment and other janitorial duties as required.

Qualifications

The successful incumbent must possess a Grade 12 education, and a valid Class 5 NWT Driver’s Licence.  Completion of Arena Level 1 & 2 certification and current First Aid, CPR & AED training are also required.   The incumbent must have the ability to work independently and have previous experience working with the public. Knowledge in the use of a computer is required.  Knowledge of ice making and ice maintenance, recreation facility maintenance, minor equipment and machinery repair and experience with trades such as plumbing and carpentry would be an asset.

 

The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive hourly wage of $27.27 per hour as well as 4% Vacation pay for this position.
