Khione Resources Limited are recruiting Haul Truck Operators to work at the Gahcho Kué Mine Site. This seasonal position is rotation-based and will follow a four weeks on, four weeks off schedule.  Candidates will be required to clear a pre-access criminal record check, Drug & Alcohol test, Medical, and Covid-19 testing.

The Haul Truck Operator is responsible for operating Komatsu: HM400, HD785 & 830E equipment in a safe and appropriate manner while cleaning, maintaining, and securing all equipment as directed by legislation, polices, and procedures.

• Operating heavy equipment in a safely manner
• Completing inspection of equipment being operated and report any problems to supervisor
• Complying with and understanding of all safety policies, procedures, regulations, maintenance, and practices used in operation of equipment
• Conducting pre-operational checks on equipment
• Performing minor repairs to equipment
• Performing daily safety and maintenance checks
• Cleaning equipment as required
• Practicing workplace safety
• Participating in routine maintenance
• Performing other duties as required

The successful candidate will:

• Be skilled in operation of assigned haul trucks (Komatsu: HM400, HD785 & 830E)
• Follow safe work practices and procedures
• Be reliable and dependable
• Have sound organization and communication skills with the ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships
• Be able to meet the physical requirements of the position
• Previous experience with rotational schedules and remote camp life
• Possess a Heavy Equipment Operator certificate and have 3-5 years’ experience
• Must hold a Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1 license is preferred)
