Human Resource Officer
Central Services
Position: Indeterminate | Start Date: ASAP
Required Education and Recommended Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or Human Resources Management
- Recommended to hold, or working toward the CPHR designation
- Canada Labour Code, Labour Standards Act, Human Rights Act, Affirmative Action Policy, etc.
- Deep understanding of the GNWT and Federal HR Legislation
- Experience with staffing and recruitment practices
- Experience working in the area of labour relations
- Evident knowledge of district Administrative Procedures
- Knowledge of the human resources industry
- A Vulnerable Sector Check is a requirement
Required Skills and Abilities
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work cooperatively with staff, administrators, and other agencies
- Ability to work successfully as a team player
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to change
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in school division operations
- Ability to demonstrate initiative, be self-directed, and work independently
