Under the authority of the YKDFN Government Chiefs and Council and under the direct supervision of the Director, the Job Coach is directly responsible to assist individuals enhance their strengths and improve their job skills to participate in the labour job market, and liaise with industry to increase YKDFN participation in the labour market. The incumbent will assist the team in all aspects of the implementation and delivery of the Dechı̨ta Nàowo program.
The position requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with the focus on client services and report writing experiences. The ideal candidate for this position will have a High School diploma, coupled with at least two (2) years relevant experience working with youth, preferably within a northern First Nation community; or an equivalent combination of education and training with a minimum of four (4) years of direct work-related experience will be considered.
Knowledge and/or experience with cultural history, customs and language of the Wiiliideh people and previous experience working with First Nations organizations are all definite assets.
