NORTH Creative Inc. is looking for a Junior Graphic Designer. This is a full-time entry-level position based in Yellowknife, with the possibility of career advancement! 

The Junior Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating unique visual content. This role will work under the Chief Creative Officer and alongside our existing Senior Art Director and assist in creating unique content for our clients. Building strong, positive, and collaborative relationships are critical to this role as well as a passion to learn! (Relocation expenses will be provided for the successful applicant if they are from outside of the NWT).

• Report to the Chief Creative Officer 
•  Participate in initial planning of assets with Senior Art Director/Chief Creative Officer and to review incoming briefs from Account Managers/Project Coordinators 
• Design materials that enhance the brands of our clients. Design accompanying materials or collateral put forward by the creative team 
•  Support the Creative team with various design needs 
• Review all assets, ensuring overall quality, proper placement, grammar, and typography 
• Present campaigns to Chief Creative Officer for feedback and approval 
• Support and collaborate with Senior Art Director 
• Continually raise the bar for design excellence 
• Accurately estimate time required to complete work, and work successfully within time and cost constraints 
• Organize and maintain graphic assets folder 
• Conduct research and create trend guides to support current and future projects 
• Proofread to ensure accurate and high-quality work 
• Obtain team approval by presenting final layouts, storyboards, and illustrations, encouraging members to provide feedback, and responding to internal commentary and requests

• Post-secondary education 
• Graphic Design Diploma or equivalent
• 1-2 years of relevant experience (Required) 
• Must have a portfolio demonstrating relevant experience 
• Skills in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign 
• Knowledge of After Effects and/or XD is an asset 
• Exhibit a detailed typographic sensibility, pair with a nuanced eye and a skill for producing strongly conceived concepts visually in multiple mediums 
• Strong attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication skills 
• Ability to meet deadlines and to adapt to change in a daily, unpredictable production environment 
• Ability to provide and receive honest feedback in a constructive manner 
• Strong intellectual curiosity and work ethic 
• Accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and collaborate 
• A collaborative spirit, and the ability to work well with a team
