Required Education and Recommended Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience

• Post-secondary education in Sociology or Social Work, Education or Inclusive Schooling
• Knowledge of the trans-generational impact of residential schooling
• Knowledge of cultural factors that impact learning, school success, and social/emotional development
• Knowledge of the functions of brain-based neurodiversity, self-regulation, trauma, and healing supports for youth and young adults (18+)
• Knowledge of Mental Health, illness, disorders, and psychiatric profiles
• Knowledge of Mental Health Wellness Plans
• Knowledge of collaboration and multidisciplinary approaches within a school environment

Required Skills and Abilities

• Ability to practice in a non-judgmental, culturally sensitive, and empathetic manner
• Ability to work with youth and adults who have diverse trauma and/or neurodiversity
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Excellent listening communication skills as primary, verbal, and written secondary
• Effective negotiation and consultation skills
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Decision-making skills and managing several tasks at one time
• Stress management skills
