The AAON works directly with the aircrew of the airtanker group, Regional and Territorial wildfire operations staff ensuring that airtanker group response requirements are met during mission-critical activities. The decisions made by the position have the capacity to directly affect the ability of the Department’s wildfire suppression program to provide a safe and effective response.

A Diploma in Environment and Natural Resources Technology or Forest Technology and five seasons of ground related firefighting experience , as well as three seasons in aerial wildfire management.
