Description

Northwestel is searching for a full-time Network & Access Facilities Analyst to join our team! This position provides technical support for our internal and external customers by working alongside the Engineering Department and by streamlining facilities and equipment to optimize the network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Analyses cutover sheets, assists Cable Splicer and updates records in Martens, as required.
  • Updates maps via Auto Cad.

  • Provides information and assists with cable locates, high loads and airline mileage.

  • Coordinates Defective Cable Maintenance Program and updates records in Martens with results.

  • Completes pre-fields for sales; responding to customer requests for quotations, and consulting directly with customers for future requirements.

  • Provides technical support for internal and external customers.

  • Builds and manages addressing in Martens, for flow through provisioning.

  • Identifies and documents business processes, as required.

  • Liaises closely with Engineering and Assignment.

  • Assign facilities and design circuits.

  • Provide facility and technical input to the Engineering Department.

  • Proactively streamline facilities and equipment to optimize the network infrastructure.

  • Jointly maintain and update the Transmission Facilities layout book for network.

  • Maintain records for the various elements of the network.

  • Travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a technical diploma and five years of radio or central office experience
  • CCNA qualification

  • Cable experience is an asset

  • Must have project coordination skills and be proficient at record management

  • Must have valid Class 5 drivers license

  • Working knowledge of telecommunication networks

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; aptitude for investigative, analytical work; excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work with strict deadlines in a fast paced work environment

  • Strong computer skills in a Windows environment is an asset

  • Working knowledge of Martens

  • Working knowledge of Auto Cad is an asset
