Description
Reporting to the Supervisor Sales (SS), the Parts Counter Clerk (PCC) is employed to provide support to the organization though selling, renting or leasing a range of technical and non-technical goods and services directly to consumers.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Participate in training and leadership of the sales team:
- promote and sell company’s products and services, often within as assigned area, to current customers or by soliciting new ones
- Adhere schedules to ensure appropriate coverage for the walk in clients and cashier desk
- Complete assigned duties in a timely and professional manner
- Get authorization for payments by credit card or purchase order and return of merchandise
- Adhere to expectations when selling merchandise to customers and follow up with complaints but also follow up with testimonials
- Resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages
- Prepare reports regarding sales volumes, merchandising and personnel matters
- Assist with hire and/or training of new sales staff
2. Sales and Marketing – provide customer service to our walk in clients as well as by phone, email and internet:
- Greet customers and discuss type, quality and quantity of merchandise or services sought for purchase, rental or lease
- Advise customers on use and care of merchandise, and provide advice concerning specialized product or services
- Estimate or quote prices, credit terms, trade-in allowances, restocking fees, warranties and delivery dates
- Perform detailed and thorough research for customers need and relay this relevant information to the client
- Answer emails in a timely and professional manner, clarifying all details relevant to said sales
- Share specials, discounts and flyers with customers
- Keep a proper paper trail and attach back up information to relevant paperwork
3. Sales:
- Prepare merchandise for purchase, rental or sales
- Prepare sales, rental and leasing contracts and accept cash, cheque, credit card or automatic debit payment
- Assist in display of merchandise
- Promote and sell company’s products and services, often within as assigned area, to current customers or by soliciting new ones
- Draw up sales contracts or have them done
- Submit orders to purchaser and make the necessary arrangements to satisfy customers
- Ensure follow-up with customers and solve any problems related to consumption of the company’s products or services
- Keep customer records up to date
- Maintain sales records for inventory control
- Operate computerized inventory record keeping & re-ordering systems.
4. Other duties:
- Maybe required to perform other duties, to support other departments and the company as a whole
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Grade 12 and two years of related experience
- Trades ticket an asset
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Must be proficient with common computer applications
- Demonstrated initiative
- Attention to detail
- Ability to handle a heavy workload
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Must provide a driver abstract before hire.
