Description
Northern Mosaic Network is seeking a motivated, creative, and organized full-time Program & Events Coordinator (PEC). The PEC will be responsible for coordinating the various programs and events our organization runs, as well as managing our social media presence. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling bookings, creating online content, coordinating volunteers, purchasing supplies and facilitating programs.
This position will incorporate mentorship to enhance existing skills and will have opportunities for continuous learning (meaning if you don’t have all the qualifications, apply! We can mentor you into meeting the qualifications of this position).
Working Conditions
The successful candidate can expect to commute to the Rainbow Centre office daily, located downtown Yellowknife. The typical hours worked for this position are 9:30am-6:00pm or 12:30pm-9:00pm and reaches up to 37.5 hours per week (full-time hours), both of which will be discussed more in the interview process.

Responsibilities
Program and Event Coordination: Booking venues and facilitators, creating a monthly program schedule, connecting with youth on program feedback and planning out programs/events in advance
Social Media Management: Creating online content for the organization’s social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter & TikTok)
Volunteer Management: Oversee the recruitment, training and coordination of volunteers that help to run the Rainbow Centre
Budgeting and Grant Writing: Manage a small program and events budget and apply for additional funding to support different projects
Program and Event Facilitation: Facilitate programs and events when there are no volunteers to cover and/or are the designated facilitator for a specific project
Advocacy: Connect with program and service users to identify areas of advocacy that should be brought to the organization’s attention and contribute to advocacy efforts
Qualifications

Comprehensive understanding of Two Spirit, Indigiqueer and gender and sexually diverse communities, people and issues, including lived experience

Experience working in youth-centred spaces or organizations

Comfortable using social media and engaging with service users on online platforms

Knowledge of Northern communities and cultures

Strong interpersonal skills, able to make phone calls and craft emails

Knowledge of intersectionality and concepts of marginalization, power and privilege

Experience using Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive and Zoom are assets

Knowledge of another official language of the NWT an asset

Valid Driver’s License and access to a vehicle an asset
