RESEARCH ASSISTANTS NEEDED
We are hiring Research Assistants for a study that examines the public’s thoughts and opinions about cannabis. The study involves an online survey completed by participants aged 16 and over living in Nunavut, Yukon, and Northwest Territories. The Research Assistants will be responsible for recruiting study participants. The study is being led by Erin Hobin at Public Health Ontario and David Hammond at the University of Waterloo.
Locations:
- Iqaluit
- Rankin Inlet
- Cambridge Bay
Work Period:
- September 7 to approximately October 17, 2021
- Full- or part-time hours; day, evening, and weekend shifts available
- 20 to 35 hours per week
- Mandatory, paid, 4-hour online training session on 1 day between September 1 to 3

Responsibilities
- Recruiting study participants e.g., distributing recruitment materials at designated locations within the community, such as grocery stores, community centres
- Traveling locally within community to designated locations
- Interacting with the public and answering questions about the study when distributing recruitment materials
- Maintaining recruitment activity logs
- Maintaining regular communication with the research team
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills
- Responsible and reliable
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Previous research experience is an asset
