Description

Job description

Great Slave Animal Hospital is a long-time community Clinic with an overwhelming loyal client base. We had an addition done on our building in 2013 to expand to serve our clients better, also it has allowed us to add housing upstairs to any employees coming to us from out of town. We are looking for 1 full-time Veterinarian. We currently have 2 Veterinarians working full time, but one (the business owner) would like to retire soon. We are a fast-paced small animal practice that treats a variety of cases. We are an emergency On Call animal hospital, treating urgent cases such as C-sections, HBC, animals in distress, and many more. We also are a regular practice, doing vaccinations, medical appointments, and routine surgeries. We are in partnership with the NWT SPCA, and they take care of all NWT/Nunavut, requiring us to handle many cases without any history and having many in clinic patients from out of town. Working here you will use a variety of different skills and are required to be interactive with the team. We have a small team and an active, upbeat atmosphere. Our clinic is fully equipped with Idexx for in-house machines, Idexx digital radiography, and outside lab services.

Applicants are required to be fully licensed and able to be flexible with working hours. Applicants must have good communication skills and the ability to adapt to new and changing situations. We are a hard-working crew, so both teamwork and independent skills are required.

We prefer applicants with experience, but new grads are also welcome.
