Description

Responsibilities

The Water Delivery Drivers’ are part of the YKDFN Public Works and Infrastructure team and works closely to ensure that health and safe water delivery services goals are met to the citizens of the community.  The incumbent will also be provided to assist other positions within the Public Works in team efforts.  This position is located in Dettah Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, including working on statutory holidays.

Under the authority of the YKDFN Government Chiefs and Council and under the direct supervision of the Assistant Manager, the Water Delivery Driver’s main responsibility are to ensure timely and safe water delivery to Dettah residences, offices and Dettah access roads are met.  In addition, the incumbent’s responsibility are to maintain the water truck in good operating condition and to follow all required potable water safety procedures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have a Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent, Class 3 Driver’s License with Airbrakes Endorsed; Heavy Equipment Operator or Truck Driving Course; First Aid/CPR; and WHMIS coupled with two (2) years direct work-related experience. The right candidate must be physically fit and able to lift 30 1bs.  Fire Safety Training is an asset but willing to train the successful candidate.
