Working with the Board of Directors, this position will be integral in building YSR’s dedicated administrative and technical professionals, will help pursue business development opportunities, and will be responsible for leading YSR’s technical services. This position provides a unique opportunity to be a part of the Yukon’s growing restoration and reclamation economy. The Business Lead & Restoration Specialist will undertake a variety of tasks related to the procurement and development of business opportunities, management and implementation of reclamation, restoration, and nature-based design projects throughout the Yukon. The position will also include contribution to the development of YSR’s native seed and plant supply system program, and capacity building training initiatives. We are looking for someone who is a natural leader that has both technical restoration expertise as well as a strong business sense. This position will oversee the growth of both the technical and business teams of YSR. This position requires someone who can work independently, as well as part of a highly collaborative team of experts, board of directors, and partners. A love for the natural world and desire to restore and steward the vibrant Yukon landscape is appreciated. As a start-up organization, YSR seeks to employ individuals who are self- starters and are flexible enough to operate across multiple different industry lines, with the ability to strategically work on files that may be outside of their routine tasks. We encourage continued two-way learning and growth of all our employees to best achieve this.

CORPORATE ENVIRONMENT YSR is a for-profit subsidiary (51% owned) of the Nacho Nyak Dun Development Corporation (NNDDC). NNDDC and all its subsidiaries, including YSR, operate with a holistic approach to economic reconciliation that is centered around people, community, culture, language and land. These core values are at the heart of all our activities.

Note: NNDDC's Na-Cho Nyäk Dun First Nation Citizens hiring preference policy is in effect for those that meet the requirements - please be sure to clearly self-identify if you are an NND Citizen. An eligibility list may be established from this competition to hire identical or similar positions in the future. Anyone who can legally work in Canada can apply for this job.
