This is a combined position working as a finance assistant and as an afterschool senior leader. Part of your day will be spent working as a finance assistant staff and the remaining 3-hours working in one of our afterschool programs. The finance assistant position is responsible for performing a variety of financial duties.

As an after-school senior leader will function as a team member responsible for providing childcare to children ages 4-10. This individual will supervise and facilitate various activities and is responsible for the safety of all the children in the program. This position reports to the coordinator, Afterschool program.

Financial duties include:

• Prepare and post receipts, make bank deposits and other standard bookkeeping task
• Data entry
• Payment processing
• Processing incoming and outgoing mail
• Filing and scanning

Afterschool duties include:

• Supervise children in the afterschool program
• Plan activities for the children
• Supervise junior leaders
• Good problem-solving skills

Qualifications needed:

• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Cross cultural skills
• Office or bookkeeping experience
• Computer proficiency in Excel, Word
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team
• Ability to work with small children
• Have a clear criminal record check
• First aid training (can provide for the right candidate)
• Must have QuickBooks experience
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Computer proficiency in Excel, Word

Hours of work are 10am-6pm weekdays, with some flexibility.

Location: Yellowknife, NWT

Salary is $27.01 hourly. Includes extended health benefits, vacation and pension plan

Must have own transportation (will reimburse for mileage)
