Responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Director, the Intermediate Accountant is responsible for processing financial transactions, preparing financials reports and administrating the computerized financial systems in order to ensure the YKDFN finances are maintained in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.  The incumbent will also support the Finance team in other financial processes and duties with the goal of ensuring that YKDFN organization are financially sound. The incumbent will work independently and communicate with internal and external stakeholders and recipients in a manner that promotes positive and respectful relationships.  This position is located in Dettah, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this position will have a Completion of a bachelor’s degree in commerce (accounting or finance major is preferred) with at least 2 years of work experience OR a combination of advanced accounting/finance diploma with at least four (4) years of relevant work experience will be considered. The candidate must be proficient in Sage 300 with strong analytical skills and able to work with minimal supervision and interact with individuals of all levels in a friendly yet professional manner.

Knowledge and/or experience with cultural history and customs of the Wiiliideh people and previous experience in working with First Nations organizations are all definite assets.
