Responsibilities

Under the authority of the YKDFN Government Chiefs and Council and under the direct supervision of the Child and Youth Assistant Manager, the Wellness Shuttle Driver is a member of the Health and Wellness professional team.   The incumbent is responsible for a 15 passenger van and for safely transporting children and youth to and from school, regular scheduled wellness programming and events, workshops and/or conferences as planned.  This position is also responsible for general assistance, but not limited to, in areas of general light upkeep of facility, program errands and assist in field trips and cultural activities.  This position is located in Ndilo, Monday to Friday, with some evenings and weekends, for a flexible schedule of a 37.5 hour work week.

Qualifications

Requirement for ideal candidate for this position:

  • Minimum Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Current First Aid/with Child Care CPR Certificate (training provided to successful candidate).
  • Up to date Immunizations.
  • Class “4” Drivers License and clean drivers abstract.
  • Clean Criminal Records’ Check with Vulnerable Sector prior to hire.
  • Be physically fit and have the ability to lift 30 lbs.

Knowledge and/or experience with cultural history and customs of the Wiiliideh people and previous experience in working with First Nations organizations are all definite assets.
