Final Food on Franklin

Don’t forget: the last 50/50 food event of the season happens tonight, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., with most of the season’s surviving food trucks/stands/tents — Curbside Treats ‘N Eats, Saffron, Southern Comfort, Sushi North — on hand. Yellowknife artists Terry Pamplin will be the final artists on hand, creating “improvisational painting” to local songstress Natasha Duchene’s keyboard accompaniment.

City economic development officer Richard McIntosh says the inaugural run of FoF has been “a great success, in terms of partnering with Yellowknife Artists Run Community Centre, the Yellowknife Chamber of Commerce and of course the promotion of our summer food street vendors,” but that doesn’t necessarily mean the event will be back next year. “It’s too early to say,” says McIntosh, and of course, there remains the possibility that by the time summer rolls around next year, the City will have other plans for the 50/50 lot.
