Curbside Shopping: Garage Sale Guide – June 20

Looking for some ways to make your yard sale stand out among the rest this long weekend? If you are a frequent yard saler, you may have already picked up a few tricks along the way, but Apartment Therapy has some solid advice. Tips include: giving your sale a unique name; teaming up with your neighbours for multi-household sales; putting the big ticket items out front to help stop slow-moving traffic and, of course, advertising. We can even help with that last bit next time if you make sure to get your listing in to info@vergecomms.ca on Thursday before 5:00 p.m. each week.

After this Saturday’s morning yard sale tour, be sure to take some time to participate in the Aboriginal Day fish fry and celebration at Somba K’e Civic Plaza. From 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. there will be live Aboriginal entertainment, cultural activities and native arts and crafts as well as Great Slave whitefish served.

Later on, we hope to see you at the Edge Solstice Slam at the Folk on the Rocks site. Check out our Events page, of course, for more info on Saturday’s post-yard sale events, including the 7th Annual Beer Barge, among others.

Oh, and don’t forget: it’s Father’s Day on Sunday as well. I hear most dads wouldn’t even mind if that cool present you got him was from a yard sale. As always, if there are any other ways you think we can improve our Garage Sale Guide through the season, please let us know in the comments.
