We are seeking an Environmental Bird Monitoring Assistant to join us on a remote Mine site assisting with the implementation and monitoring of the migratory bird mitigation program. The successful candidate will be reporting to the Environmental Coordinator and will be working on a 3 weeks on 1 week off rotation bases running from April 23- July 9 with the possibility of extension.

• Monitoring camp and pit areas for nesting birds, and recording the presence of.
• Indicating areas of risk to activate operations where nesting of birds is likely to occur.
• Operation and maintenance of bird deterrent devices (propane cannons, noise makers, kites, scare crows etc.)
• Completion of daily bird observations and equipment maintenance reports.
• Driving of light vehicles within the pit and camp area.
• Assisting environmental staff with other sampling activities as needed.

• Experience working in an environmental field, preferably in a mine setting.
• Valid Class 5 drivers license.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
