Description
Nahanni Construction Ltd. is accepting resumes for Heavy Equipment Operators to work at the Giant Mine Site in Yellowknife, NT. The successful candidates will work on a rotational schedule based in a work camp environment. The Job will start out with a couple of rotations of underground work and then transfer into site services when production starts. The rotation is tentatively a three (3) weeks on / three (3) weeks off schedule. The rotation is subject to change based on organizational requirements.
Nahanni is an open-shop Contractor that provides competitive pay and benefits. The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of the following equipment:
- D6 Dozer
- CAT349 Excavator
- Other equipment such as Loaders, Telehandler, etc.
When not operating Heavy Equipment, the candidate would be required to assist with miscellaneous site services activities, as required.
Responsibilities
- Safely and effectively operate equipment
- Follow all safety protocols to ensure both the safety of those around and the integrity of the equipment
- Perform daily safety inspections on designated equipment to ensure that it is safe to operate
- Effectively communicate with other team members
Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience operating either Dozers, Excavators, or a combination of the two
- Experience working in an industrial setting
- Must be self-motivated and a self-starter
- Ability to work in a team based, safety oriented environment
