Description
The Behchoko Ko Gha K’aodee is currently accepting applications for the position of Housing Manager in Behchoko, NT.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Board of the Behchoko Ko Gha K’aodee, the incumbent will be responsible for the overall administration and day-to-day management of the Authority according to the Management Agreement between the Authority and the Housing Northwest Territories (Housing NWT).
The incumbent must also maintain required accounting records to facilitate accurate reporting to the NWTHC; identify annual budget requirements; and administer, manage, and maintain approximately 208 housing units in the community of Behchoko.
The Housing Authority is looking for a candidate with strong managerial and supervisory skills, financial management skills, human resource management experience, and demonstrated ability to manage in a cross-cultural environment. Previous experience managing in a unionized environment is an asset.
The candidate would possess knowledge and experience with accounting and computerized accounting systems; the NWT Residential Tenancies Act; NWT Rental Office application process; and experience with property management would be an asset.
Qualifications
Qualifications should include a degree in Business Administration or related discipline and a minimum of two (2) years of directly related experience with minimum of three (3) years of senior management experience, or a diploma in Business Administration and four (4) years relevant experience combined with a minimum of 4 years senior management experience. Equivalent combinations of education and/or experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
The successful candidate would be required to provide a satisfactory criminal records check, a valid NWT Class 5 Driver’s license or equivalent, as well as provide proof of a minimum of two doses of a Health Canada approved vaccine for Covid-19.
A standard benefits package will be provided, including a northern allowance.
