Under the direction of the Indoor Facilities Supervisor and the Assistant Indoor Facilities Supervisor, the incumbent performs a variety of tasks associated with the maintenance and operation of Arenas.  This includes but is not limited to arena and ice maintenance; removal of snow from walkways and exits; collection and disposal of litter and other debris; equipment maintenance; operation of small motorized equipment and other janitorial duties as required.

The successful incumbent must possess a Grade 12 education, and a valid Class 5 NWT Driver’s Licence.  Completion of Arena Level 1 & 2 certification and current First Aid, CPR & AED training is also required.   The incumbent must have the ability to work independently and have previous experience working with the public. Knowledge in the use of a computer is required.  Knowledge of ice-making and ice maintenance, recreation facility maintenance, minor equipment, and machinery repair, and experience with trades such as plumbing and carpentry would be an asset.

The City of Yellowknife offers an attractive salary of $66,966.57 - $78,543.00 as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including an annual housing allowance of $5400 and defined benefits pension plan.
