The River Bend Motel is currently searching for a manager in preparation for a return to tourism operations in the Northwest Territories. This position would be working approximately 30-hour weeks. We're looking for someone that can be trusted to run this business in a highly independent manner, in a mentorship arrangement with the owner, eventually developing to a leadership role.
The ideal candidate would be someone who is adventurous and experienced with, or willing to learn about, small-community life in the north. Some familiarity with the needs and expectations of excursion travellers, game hunters, government officials, and first nations hospitality, would be beneficial. The owner will make time for on-the-job training and would be willing to provide for relocation, food costs, accommodation, and access to a vehicle, as well as a generous compensation rate in-line with the expectations of living in a fly-in-fly-out community. Other skills that would be very useful include supply management and basic bookkeeping/accounting. Proficiencies that would be helpful include facility cleaning, cutting lumber, skidoo and ATV operation, and a driver's license. Being comfortable with travel in small airplanes and boats are a must-have.
